2024 STAMPEDE DANCE AND CHILI COOK-OFF

This will all be held at 935 Heritage Drive SW.

On July 6th we will be having a Chili Cook-off and Stampede Dance.  Both events will be held at the Heritage Drive church.

The Chili Cook-Off will be from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm with the awards given out at 7:45 pm. But wait awards? What Awards?

Well, the first-place award will be $100 gift certificate for Pampa Steakhouse. There will also be 2nd and 3rd place awards.

The dance will be from 8 pm to 11 pm.  You can come to all the fun or just one part or the other.

For those that have a great chili recipe and want to enter the cook-off, please email CAS.SingleAdultRep@Gmail.Com.  We have some spots left but deadline is June 29th.

JULY DINNER AND DEVOTIONAL

There will be a Potluck Dinner and Fireside on Sunday July 21st from 5:30 pm to 8 pm. The main dish will be BEEF on a bun.

The speaker and topic is still being finalized but the details will be announced as soon as possible.

We look forward to see you all there. Feel free to bring a side dish, salad or dessert. It does not need to a big side dish, just whatever you can handle – please.

May events

May 4th at 6:30 PM – 3RD ANNUAL CINQO de MAYO Celebration

Come out at 6:30 pm for some great food. Then at 8 PM the dancing starts.

Feel free to bring a sombrero, if you have one. Anyone that is 31 and single is welcome.

There will be prizes and a SPECIAL DJ!

May 5th at 5:30PM – Potluck Dinner & Devotional

Please bring a side dish, salad or dessert. Enjoy dinner and socialize.

Brother and Sister Johnson will be the speakers starting at 7 PM. They have recently returned from serving a full time mission.

Come on out and enjoy a great weekend with two meals plus dancing and a devotional!

Pickleball

On Saturday April 20th from 12 Noon to 4 PM we will meet at 2021 17 Avenue SW for an afternoon of Pickleball and food.

We play Pickleball until 3 PM and then we will have Burgers and Hot Dogs.

If you have any equipment, please bring it along. And if you do not have any, please come out and have fun trying to play something you maybe have never played. There will be other NEWBIES there!

And afterwards you get free food!!!! See you all there.

NEXT FIRESIDE: May 5th at 5:30 PM for dinner then 7 to 8 pm for fireside.

Speakers will be: Brother and Sister Johnson from the Fish Creek stake.

Dinner will be potluck. So please bring either a side dish, hors d’oeuvre, salad or dessert.

Friends are of course always welcome.

April Watch Party

On April 7th at 2 PM we will be watching the last session of General Conference followed by a Potluck.

Please arrive by 1:45 and bring a side dish, a salad or a dessert. Children are welcome to come with their single adult parent.

March Devotional

On Sunday March 4th there will be a potluck dinner and devotional held at Heritage Drive Church.

The dinner will start at 5:30 PM.  Main dish will be Spaghetti.  PLEASE bring a side dish, salad or dessert.

The devotional will start at 7 PM.  The speaker will be Patriarch Gedlaman.

Attendance at these events has been increasing and that is great.  Please come out for a wonderful meal, socializing and message from a great speaker.

January Fireside

The January Fireside will be held on January 28th at Heritage Drive Church.

It will start with a Potluck dinner at 5:30 PM. The main dish will be provided by the Foothills Stake. Please bring a side dish, a salad or a dessert – if possible.

The Fireside will start at 7:00 PM. The speaker and the topic will be announced when we have those details.

We hope to see you all at the dinner and fireside. Thank you.

December Service Project – CANCELLED!!!

Sorry folks.

It has been decided that this project unfortunately has to be cancelled.

We will be having an activity and fireside in January!

Details will be posted when they are available.

December Service Project

On Friday December 1st at 6 PM there will be a service project at Heritage Drive Church.

After 2 hours spent on the service project we will car pool and head over to South Center Mall and visit the Giving Machines. It will be a wonderful night of service to others and all those available should plan to attend.

PLEASE NOTE: The next Fireside will be January 21st, 2024.

DETAILS of Service Project:

December 1 Christmas service project: Birthday Cake project and bereavement boxes for hospice.

We are asking for donations to fill the birthday bags; items to be donated would include things to make birthday cakes with for children in need. We are looking for  people to donate and bring the following items that each kit will contain:

  • Birthday bags large 1
  • Cake pan disposable 8 x 13th or too small pans
  • 1 can of icing per kit 
  • Cake mixes (1 per kit)
  • 1 Small bottle of oil per kit 
  • Candles  1 pack 
  • Sprinkles  2 small bags 

We will accept large bags or containers of sprinkles and we will use ziplock bags to divide them into smaller portions. We could also do the same for candles, we will put 12 candles and/or 1 pack per kit. 

Once we’re all done, we will donate these to the food bank.

We will also be making bereavement boxes for hospice family members who’ve lost a loved one. These Boxes are used for the patient’s belongings when they pass away and/or help for the family to take their belongings home from the hospice.

Single Adult Dance

There will be a 70’s themed dance at Heritage Drive Church on November 18th. This is a potluck night for snack. Bring your favorite Snack or Dessert. The dancing is from 8 PM to 11:30 PM.

Come out and socialize and dance the night away.

Wear your favorite 70’s outfit, bellbottoms or the like.

November Fireside

There will be a fireside on Sunday November 19th. The potluck dinner starts at 5:30 PM. The Fireside starts at 7 PM. It will be held at Heritage Drive Church.

Dr. Kevin Hatch , Bonnie Doon Stake President, will be speaking on Emotional Resilience.

The main dish for the potluck is being provided by the Calgary West stake.

Please bring a side dish, a salad or a dessert to share at the potluck before the fireside.
